Vampire Diaries

Ugh! Thursday is quickly approaching and Vampire Diaries Season Finale was last week. What's a Vampire Brat to do with out her weekly addiction to Damon Salvatore along with the rest of the show? When this show was first about to air I heard jokes like "what do you want to watch that for? It is 90210 with teeth" With all the jokes aside I thought what the heck, I will give it ago anyways. OH MY GOTH am I ever happy I did. Vamp. Diaries quickly became an obsession. Not so patiently waiting for next Thursday to come immediately after the end of a show. In between shows I began reading all the Novels as well as the side books based off the show The Stephen Diaries. 1st hand knowledge, though the books are good but, there are a night and day difference from the show itself. I would recommend reading them.

Sadly now I have nothing to look forward to on Thursday Night's.. That is of course until Season 4 begins sometime in Sept. Which seems so far away. On the plus side I have this weekend with one of my beast ghoul friends to have a V.D. Marathon :o) I am trying to catch her up to date with the seasons.

Abe Lincoln: Vampire Hunter

OK to begin when I first heard about this book the title of it horrified me as well as had my eyes rolling with the drawn out sigh of OH BROTHER!

However, the  book is an entertaining combination of history and fantasy. I was pleasantly surprised to admit I found little to fault. It was a well-written, very engaging, fast read. The author took real events and facts from Lincoln's life and wove in the vampire aspect nailing it like a coffin, which I found very interesting.

In fact, I was so intrigued with this story, I found it hard to put down. If you are looking for something fun to read and have the slightest interest in history as well as good writing….This is definitely the book to get  it is frightfully delightful.

Now only if it was true, it would make American History much more interesting and completely vamperific.

Cookies to Die for

  • Chocolate Chip Cheesecake Cookies

  • Ingredients:

  • 1 cup - Butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 8oz. pkg. Cream Cheese, softened
  • 1 tsp. Vanilla
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 1/4 cups flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 cups mixed semi-sweet and milk chocolate chips

  • Directions

  • 1. Preheat over to 350F
  • 2.  With an electric mixer cream butter and sugars until nice and creamy. Add cream cheese and continue to mix until all lumps are gone and it is nice and smooth. Add vanilla and egg and mix.
  • 3. Slowly add flour, a little at a time. Add baking soda and salt and mix well, but not too much!
  • 4. Turn off your mixer and add the chocolate chips, folding by hand with a rubber spatula.
  • 5. Scoop cookie dough by the rounded tablespoon onto a cookie sheet; make sure they aren’t too close though!
  • 6. Bake in your oven for 9-11 minutes, I do mine for 10.
  • 7. Cool on a rack and once they are all the way cool put into a plastic bag or container and keep in the fridge!
  •     Since they have cream cheese in them you don’t want them to spoil!

This recipe yields approx. 3 dozen cookies
  • Revival of a Blog

Has been dead "no pun intended" for much to long. It is time for me to get back into the swing of things and press forward with my creeperific blog. I had a personal family style blog, got caught up in that and sort of left this inches from falling into the great black void. YIKES!  However, I have decided to just bring my personal stuff with me to this one.  This way I can keep up with the Vampy stuff and who I really am all in one neat little package. All for your viewing displeasure. Leave it to me to come up with a killer idea lol.

    West Chester Halloween Fun!

    Hello Guys and Ghouls!

My family has been scaring up a good time lately and I am absolutely frightfully delighted. Halloween is hands down my be all end all holiday.  I assume that is why I try to keep it around all year. Last year while making holiday (x-mas)  cupcakes for the little monsters school. I was watching a ghost hunters marathon while doing so.  Any who…. This past weekend Mummy's little monsters as well as Mummy and Daddy went to a Ghost Tour. I must say it was rather fantastic.  We went to the Lincoln Room in Downtown West Chester. Before the outing began we ate dinner in the gathering area, Pulled pork sandwich's and OMG! to die for Butternut squash soup which I never had but it is YUMMY! At 8 the ghost tour began; Our tour guide was Malcolm Johnstone dressed as a gentleman from 1850's  guided us and approximately 45 other people on a 90 min. walking tour of the historic ghostly events of the West Chester area.  The tour began at the Lincoln room one of West Chester's most historic buildings dating back to 1833. It is a federal style structure built by William Everhart, a former congressman. The rooms retain its original molding and tin ceiling. Abraham Lincoln had his first biography written here. It is also said to be haunted by the ghost of John Tully a horse thief that died there after being whipped and having his ears cut off. We also learned about the Everhart Parks mysterious Shadow People, as well as the persecution of the accused Westtown Witch Moll Otley. If ever in the West Chester Area and are looking for something fun to do for this time of year. I would definitely recommend giving this a try. It is a lot of fun and the people that run it could not get any nicer. Wonderful experience all the way around. This week I am getting ready for the weekends big events.  Friday Night is Bates Motel followed by chillaxin in the crypt with killer friends. The following day is the big halloween Night of the Living Fed Party. Can't Wait!!!!

    Lucid Dreaming

Lucid dreaming is defined as a dream in which you are aware that you are dreaming. The dreamer normally experiences something strange and will also question their reality. At that point they realize they are in fact in a dream. It is a completely natural experience. Just like a regular dream except for the small difference of you knowledge of knowing it is a dream.

Many lucid dreamers will keep a dream journal, which will allow the dreamers to categorize and track down any recurring dreams.

There are benefits of lucid dreaming. You can take on a new life in lucid dreams, free of all your fears and inhibitions, confident that you can do absolutely anything. This has a real positive impact on your waking life.
Conscious dreaming is a fascinating experience. The realism is shocking, yet you are in a completely safe and controllable environment. Alternate realities here we come! It's against this background that you can face your fears, enhance your creative problem solving skills, improve your confidence and practice new skills.
Lucid Dreams enables us to use this playground for profound personal growth and insights.

    Ghosts

As we know ghosts are said to be a manifestation of a spirit or soul. Either of a person or animal. These spiritual beings have been know to take on many different forms. I personally only believe in two different categories of ghosts.

    They are:

Past-life Ghosts and Historical/Tragic event type ghosts. I do not believe in Demonic Spirits. I do feel ghosts just as their human counterparts can be good or evil and the spiritual beings would be an extension of their earthly form.

These type of ghost may be seen as Guardian Spirits. Which is something I feel most people can relate to and take comfort in knowing their existence. They are the entities that watch over us our entire lives attempting to help us get out of a dangerous situation. They are the voice within our heads trying to guide you in a different direction. These are normally the loved ones who stick around  to watch over you. They can also be in the form of a messenger ghosts That show up only to warn of danger for future events before returning to their on plane of existence.

Some ghostly forms just have unfinished business, spirits that stick around to give us clues to how they past on. Perhaps maybe just waiting around to see their first grandchild or the Mother that left the world all to soon that is stuck in our world just wanting to watch her children grow up. I sometimes feel as if these ghosts may go about their business daily not even knowing that they are dead. This aspect of not knowing is probably a sad existence trying to figure out why people do not stop by anymore to say hello or g why those around them can no longer hear them speak.

All these apparitions can take on the following forms:

Full Body Apparitions: The is the be all end all of all Ghostly photos, the rare full body photos. These are the images of recognizable humans in which he subject appears either Partially or fully formed. As well as transparent, at least some part of it. In some cases the figure is full enough to be identified as a deceased family member of friend. Which has always been the most valuable paranormal evidence.

Vortexes: Those little clouds or wisps of light that sometimes appear in photos. Usually appearing as a swirling spiral of light, sometimes taken the form of an apparently opaque shape.

Orbs/Spears: is a basic ball of light that unexpectedly appears in a photo, normally white or bluish in color, In video some of these have been caught moving at a high rate of speed. But one persons ghostly image may just be another person's speck of dust.

Rods & Swimmers: Elongated rod shaped objects moving quickly through the air. Most of these are dismissed as optical illusions of insects.

The Poltergeist (Noisy ghost): this is perhaps the most well known ghost: know for their tendencies to move , in many cases hurtle objects around a room. Hide small items from the land of the living as well as produce usually loud and persistent noises. Though generally harmless they have the ability to frighten people that could lead to more traumatic issues in the faint hearted.
